I have a lump, like a "cat pad" on bottom of my foot!

Hello, Every since I can remember I have had a lump a little bit than the size of a quarter on the bottom of my right foot. It hasn't grown and I have got it checked out before but know doctor has said what it is. It is not a callus! It is about an inch below my pinky toe. The skin is the same texture as the rest of my foot. I have always joked that it's my "cat pad" you know how dogs and cats have pads?? Anyways, does anyone know what this could be? It hurts Maaaaybe 3-4 times a years and it is hurting to day when I walk on it. I have gotten x-rays and nothing shows up which I guess that means that it is soft tissue. My suregon says that a scar on the bottom of my foot may be more irratating. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Thanks for you help.
