i am a 28-year-old athletic male, 5'6" tall and currently about 130 pounds. one day this past summer, i ran, or jogged, 1.5 miles, no problems. i hadnt ran at all about 4 years prior to this. the next day, i was walking around while visiting the Grand Canyon when the inside of my right foot began hurting a little. the day after that, i was walking some more on the streets of Las Vegas and my foot began to hurt more and more, to the point where i eventually had to stop. each step i took was very painful. it hurt each time my foot touched the floor and lifted off. i was then literally limping and there were instances i had to stop and rest because of the pain. later that night, i examined my foot to find the inside of it right under the bone around the middle of the foot was bruised. it took a week to recover and since then it has not hurt (although it does have short bursts of aching from time to time for unknown reasons). i've yet to do any long distance running since and my foot is fine when i sprint, however when i put some walking pressure on the foot for extended periods of time i get an aching sensation like the pain may return. i am concerned if i will be able to run miles at a time without the pain returning. although i have injured my ankle before in the past , it was not serious and i've never had foot problems until this past summer and now. what's wrong and what can i do about it? please help me. this is very important as i need my feet when i begin police academy training. please email me in private if you need further info. thank you kindly Dr. Abrams.
