I am 38 yrs old and have played basketball for about 9 years now for 90 minutes twice a week. I recently began adding raquetball once a week to that regiment. During basketball, I wear ankle braces, the kind that there is nothing structural in it, just mostly strong material like canvas and laces (to avoid getting a sprained ankle).. So here's my problem, I recently began feeling fatigue and some pain in my achilles tendon during raquetball. I thought it would go away, but it returns every time I play raqetball. So tonight, I'm going to wear an ankle brace for raquetball, but I'm worried that this is a precursor to a torn achilles tendon. Is tbat possible? Should I be strengthening the tendon? or resting it?
I'm not as young as I used to be, but sometimes I think I am anyway.. Help me
