Hopefully you have discussed your options with your doctor. My answers will be very general, not specific to you. Generally speaking screw removal can be performed with local anesthesia. There was a time that the majority of podiatric surgery was performed in the office based surgical suite under local anesthesia. Times have changed with insurance and government unfortunately dictating much of how we do things.

It is quite likely this can be adequately done under local anesthesia, barring any specific medical problems you might have.
