Hagulund's Deformity

I had surgery in October 2002, followed by a cast, then walking cast and four sessions with a physical therapist. Therapy included heat, massage and ultasound along with simple exercises to stretch the achilles. I returned to yoga and pilates and began slowly walking, as exercise. My orthopedic surgeon left the area and I have just now seen a podiatrist as the area is inflammed and it appears as if the "bump" has returned. I have stopped walking and have increased the stretching, using heat and ice frequently during the day.
I am anxious to return to hiking which is why I had the surgery. Is there anything else I can do? And is it possible for the tissue to return so soon?
Am also taking motrin for the inflammation.
Thanks for any help or advice.
