Re: Posterior Tibial Tendonitis

Depending on many factors such as degree of injury to the tendon, age, level of activity, shape of foot, needs and wants, there are several options. An orthotic may be useful, but all orthotics are not created equal and a pre fab may not be the answer just as a custom one might not be either. There are short AFO braces that I find very useful for patients with a severe posterior tibial tendon problem and other foot and ankle problems. You should see a podiatrist for further evaluation if the orthotic does not help you.
