Very Painful Big Toe

I've been previously diagnosed with sesmoiditis as well as an MRI picking up a possible tumor like growth in the joint (although the podiatrist said it was in such a bad spot that he felt best to leave it be at the time). I had been treated in the past with a walking boot for 8 weeks and that relieved the pain for quite a while. I've had orthotics made and have had much success with them in certain shoes (they don't fit in all of my shoes). The past 3 days I have had such discomfort - my big toe hurts whenever I walk on it - as well as the ball of the foot is in severe pain and I have tingling sensations quite often. Any ideas? (all shoes hurt - and barefoot too!)
