Re: Lateral foot injury

Just because X rays were negative for a fracture does NOT mean that nothing happemned. The ligaments that connect your bones together are often injured in the sudden inversion sprain. An MRI will show soft tissue injuries while an Xray will not. I would still advise rest elevation and compression. Many times I will put patient in a removable cast brace for immobilization and support.
