My mother had her little toenail pulled out with a pair of tweezers last week. She went in just to have her toenail trimmed. (They actually have curled into a circle on top of her toes.)
Since that procedure, she has heard nothing but horror stories about having the others removed. She is 80 years old and doesn't need any more to worry about.
1. Is that normal procedure? Is it safe to just numb the toenail and yank it out without any warning?
2. What, if any, are the risks of doing this to the other toes.
Thank you, Carol
