I am an experienced marathon runner and am a "hard striker" (meaning I strike the ground with a lot of force---even though I am thin. Orthodics can really help to increase the life of your shoes---and also your ability to be comfortable on your feet. I am a student and am not wealthy---so the thought of paing for custom orthodics seemed expensive. However, it was one my best investements ever.
Also, your shoes will wear better if you loose weight. I notice a difference when I loose even a few pounds.
