Ankle problem for the last year

I had a small fracture in my right ankle(this happened July of last year). They said nothing that physio couldn't fix. Went to Physio didn't help. I can't afford to keep going to it, especially when I saw NO results from it(I went for a month and a half, 2 times/week). I also have PF and have been wearing Birkenstok insoles for about 4 months now. I still have pain in my ankle, directly below it, and to the right of it (right- while looking at it from the outer side). They massaged it at physio, I was wondering how to do it again. She told me if I do it wrong I could make it worse. Any suggestions?
I'm thinking of starting up my ankle exercises again. I tried a few last night, but forgot to ice afterwards and there still is some pain today. Any suggestions?
It would be great to get some help.
The medical system has failed me greatly here.
Should I get an MRI? Go to a Podiatrist?
