Undiagnosed 5th Metatarsal Pain--Please HELP!!

I have been running since I was a freshman in high school I am now about to turn 21 and I am having pain mostly in my right 5th metatarsal. The pain is right at the base of my 5th and when I went to the doctor he said I could have a stress fracture. I was in a walking cast for 6 weeks and the pain continued. I was then put on crutches for 6 weeks and ordered to get a bonescan. The bonescan came back and the only thing it showed is that I have alot of scar tissue buildup in my ankle.(As is common with pro athletes) I was told to slowly work back into my running schedule, which I did....very slowly. It has been almost 7 months since I first felt the pain and its still here. I dont pronate and I have a nuetral heel strike. I have good arches(no flat feet) and my running form is perfect. My shoes are the best on the market and make me feel like I am running on air...I cant help but think there is some underlying problem...I need some advice. any ideas? The scarey thing is....my other foot is starting to have some of the same pain....its much more minor than my right foot, but I can still feel it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
Derek
