I've asked the same question online & at a podiatrist office. Pretty much met with the same "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and "maybe you need some counseling" mentality. People get plastic surgery all the time. I think for women it's seen as a masculine trait. I've been told how hideous my feet are, how huge they are, etc. Simply because my first 2 toes on each foot are abnormally long. There is a procedure to shorten them, as I had seen about a year ago on a New York news channel. I just can't find the podiatrist group that does it. If someone's nose is abnormally large, no one would tell the person to see a shrink instead of a getting a procedure that could change their self-image for the better.
