Ganglions can be tricky. This is just a guess- You can have something that looks like and feels like a ganglion, but be a close relative, for example a villonodular tenosynovitis. These can have pigmentation. You might need to have this surgically removed, since it returned so quickly.

Perhaps you should see someone sooner.
