Plantar facitious, can surgery be avoided if treatments fail?

:
: I put "Heel" in quotes becasue the pain I have had is between my achillies tendon and my ankle, (below the ankle, closer to the heel). Anyway its very painful. I will have this pain for about a week then it will gradually go away, only to come back again in full force days/weeks later. It's hard to walk when it hurts like that. It hurst to the touch when i rub/press on it or especially when I turn or twist my foot. It does seem worse when i first get up in the morning, and when I've been sitting for any extended period of time (say at my desk at work). (that pain occurs when I stand and begin to walk.

: If you have any ideas on what causes this, I would appreciate it very much!

: Thanks,

: EP

This slip-on device is a soft and stretchable Nylon/Lycra® fabric molded with a proprietary gel pad to protect the entire Achilles tendon of the foot by absorbing pressure and friction resulted from rubbing with the surface of the shoe.
