cheilectomy vs arthorodesis

I have received opinions from two different orthopedic surgeons. 1. States cheilectomy; my mobility will return; assured no return of arthritis; no need for redo.
2. States arthorodesis; says better mobility.

I am 49, a power walker, believe this to be the result of an earlier injury.

Concerned that I will not have a "range of motion" for walking purposes w/the arthorodesis. Plus information says the toe is "set" in an upward tilt...which sounds like it wouldn't line up with the other toes.
