Doctor, I take care of a friend who has ALS and needs assistance in standing and sitting. I lift him to a standing position several times a day. This person is 6'2" and about 175 pounds. I have been doing this for 2 years. About a month ago my heel has started hurting. When I sit and raise my leg up in a recliner, and then get up, I can hardly walk on it for at least several minutes. It still hurts, but at least I can then walk on it. It seems that whenever it rests and I then walk, I cannot walk for several minutes. I am ungodly busy between working and caring for Dave that I don't really have time to visit a doctor. Is there anything you might think it is or what to do to help it? In your opinion, will it get worse.
