Ankle bone nerve

I had a screw removed from my right ankle(inside bone)
There were quite a few. But this one was hard to remove and now if I walk alot or on hard floors the nerve in that bone really hurts. I have had all kinds of inserts and support for ankle and they donot help that much. The pulled tendons I can stand. The sharp pain is not what I can stand. I read were it could be
deaden or removed. What does that procedure do? Is it worth it.???
Sincerely,
Ruth Reed
