planter plate rupture

I had an MRI last week which revealed a planter plate rupture & some nuerosis? right below my 2nd toe. The injury took place on 8/1/05 but it took this long for the actual diagnosis. Since 9/1/05 I have taken anti-inflammatories & have been walking around w/ special inserts & padding in my shoes. 1) How long does an injury like this take to heal? 2) If I used crutches or a cam walker would that speed up the healing process? 3) Is there anything you recommend?
