Hello. I have recently visited a doctor to have my feet checked out. I have had serious ankle pain for well over 4 years now. I am very athletic and have sprained my ankles before, however the constant pain i feel is different. I also had corrective surgery for bunions some time ago. The surgery was a success however the PT had trouble increasing range of motion in my left toe due to scar tissue in the toe joint. I continued to play basketball and found that i would run using my smaller toes because of their wider range of motion than my big toe. I thought this was the source of my ankle pain because a was rolling off my foot at an odd angle. It was until i went to a doctor yesterday that i realized I had a bone spur in front of my big toe joint(preventing flexation), and also on the top part of my ankle(causing the pain). This was my first meeting with this doctor and I didn't trust his judgement. He said that my professional career in basketball is over. That is is not correctible. Am i really done for? Are the symptoms accurate?
