Plantars Faciiatis

After doing much research on the web, I am positive that have done something bad to my plantars faciiatis. I know that you should wear shoes w/ good arch supports, but the arch supports apply pressure directly on the painful spot and it feels like a nail is going thru my heel. I have had this HORRID pain now going on 6 weeks and it is showing no sign of improvement. I try to stay off of it, but because of work, it's impossible to rest it all the time. How long will this pain continue...or is it going to be something chronic!?

This slip-on device is a soft and stretchable Nylon/Lycra® fabric molded with a proprietary gel pad to protect the entire Achilles tendon of the foot by absorbing pressure and friction resulted from rubbing with the surface of the shoe.
