toe pain

I'm having pain in the joint of my big toe that extends into the top of my foot. It's worse when I am on my feet alot and especially during pronation. I have been running on and off for about 2 years. I have had a problem with what i assume is tendonitis in the top of my foot since having a heel spur removed. I have recently slacked of in my running (I'm just a novice anyhow) for a period of 3 months and been easing back into it. My toe however did not improve with a few months off and now it's worse. I'm a 35 year old female at the top of my 'normal' weight range. It's also painful to the touch, no swelling or redness, no bumps or such. Just pain and it feels like I need to 'pop' my toe. My other big toe feels similar, but not anywhere near as bad like this one. I'm wondering if I could have a spur or arthritis there?
