Top Foot Pain Forward of Ankle

Pain happens when I put weight on the foot and is gone within 1 minute. During rest and especialy at night I get a periodic burning sensation located on the outside of the foot and about an inch forward of the ankle. I had the burning sensation several days before the the pain on top of the foot started. I had Tarsal Tunnel surgery three years ago on the same foot. Could this be related to the surgery? Thanks.
