Pain in ball of feet

My right foot hurts more than the left. Here are my symptoms that have persisted for 6 months:
Pain and burning sensation in ball of foot about 2 inches below the big toe on the ball of the foot, sometimes shots up to the toes. Pain and burning is made worse for a couple days after exercise or walking a lot and especially after putting a load on them (such as carrying around something that weighs heavy). Burning sensation feels much better after I take my shoes off.

I'm 35, average weight, have exercised a lot in the past, including stair climbers and leg press.

Went to doctor, he did routine blood test, came out fine. Told me to wear some inserts, but haven't really helped.

Any suggestions/ideas?

Thank you!

Full-length viscoelastic insoles incorporating areas of softer density in the heel and metatarsal region. Raised metatarsal pad aids in desired realignment of metatarsal heads.
