Well the surgery is over. It has been very painful but the doctor said that is because he had to excise a lot of scar tissue before he could do the rest. He said "a lot of work went into a small area".
At day 10 the pain has let up a lot and I am able to get by with only ibuprofen during the day and usually only have to take the more powerful pain relievers at night and when I awake in the middle of the night.
Everything seems really optimistic right now about a good recovery. My question to you and to my doctor, besides the risks of refracture in the future, and the possible need to remove the screw, is there any other possible effects of this down the road? Does this increase risks for arthritis, gout, or any other problems?
Thanks in advance for any info
