plantar faciitis???

been on a weightloss/exercise program for 2 months. Run 4 miles per day on a treadmill. Severe pain in left heel. Sometimes have to skip a day of jogging or cut it down to brisk walking only 2 - 3 miles. Pain stays all day when I am on my feel. Actually hobble especially when getting up after being seated (long or short spans). Heel is very sore. Could this be planta faciitis, or is my weight (150 lbs on 5 ft frame) just too much for foot to handle? Why only the left heel? Will it improve as weight continues to drop?
