Daughter's bruised instep

My daughter dropped a piece of firewood on her foot and
is in a lot of pain. She can move her toes but it hurts
to put full weight on it. We think she just severely bruised it and she started wearging a soft boot that we had from a previous injury. Her soreness is located on her instep closer to her big toe and middle of foot. She is to play in a soccer tournament in 3 weeks....Any suggestions on what we can do to help relieve the pain from the bruise??
