Jones fracture

I incurred a jones fracture to my right foot on july 30th of this year when i twisted my ankle and fell to the right on the ground. i have been seeing a podiatrist locally and she has had me in a (strap-on) walking cast for a little over three months now. at two months the non-seperated fracture has yet to achieve any significant healing. now i am using a electronic device (which she prescribed) which creates a magnetic field around the fracture area and (reportedly ) excellerates the healing process. Called a bone growth stimulator. the fracture has not been pinned, she felt it would not be necessary because of the lack of seperation at the point of fracture. I am in no pain currently and continue to wear the cast. in your opinion will the bone growth stimulator do the job and is there any possibility of a re-fracture later? i am not an athelete but am on my feet much of the time when i work, climbing ladders, walking etc. richard bugby, slc,Utah.
