Question about Foot Injury

A month ago today, I dropped a drawer on my foot and was told I broke a bone in my foot, right on the top I was put in an air cast. This falls under Workmans Comp in Massachusetts. I have had the Crisman Shnook repair in 1997 and then the brostrom repair as well as a Calcaneal Osteotomy done on this foot in August 2002, and then in May of 2003 I had the screw removal from the osteotmy. I followed up with my doctor because I continued to have major pain on the lateral side of my foot,he stated that I had nerve bruising on the lateral side, even though it can't be seen on the outside. My doctor ordered PT 3 times a week for desensitization, which I have only gone twice so far, but the pain is horrible for days later, and she has me doing next to nothing. I can not wear a shoe yet, due to the pain, I have been told to wean out of it when I can, but I am concerned of having done something major that is just not showing up on the x-rays. My doctor said to only follow up with him if the pain continues, I plan on giving it 1-2 more weeks and if the pain is this severe I will be back. I know you can't dignose without seeing a patiant, however I'm looking for any advice or suggestions you can give.
Thanks for your time and help.

Lined with soft fabric on both sides, this ~2mm thick SiliposŪ proprietary gel pad is an excellent cushion to help relieve the burning sensation and discomfort of the five metatarsal heads of the foot (the ball-of-foot) by protecting the ball of foot from repeated friction and abrasion with the shoes.
