Question about ongoing ankle tenderness

I hit the inside of my right ankle very hard on the edge of a coffee table about a month or so ago. It was very painful for a few minutes, but the pain disappeared quickly, and only a slight bruise in the area remained (no swelling), which disappeared within a week. I have had no problems walking, but there is still quite a lot of tenderness when I touch the area that was hit. Is there any reason to be concerned? I've never had tenderness like that go on for so long, without any evidence of ongoing external bruising.
