Re: dislocated hammer toe

: Dr. Abrams, do you feel that you should ALWAYS perform a tendon transfer when you have surgery on a dislocated hammer toe? Also, how long do you recommend leaving the k-wire in the toe after having the surgery? I have been told that I need surgery, and I'm not sure about the the tendon transfer part. Some of the drs. that I have seen, say NOT to have the transfer as it is still controversial. What do you recommend?
