Jones fracture painful ankle

I suffered a jones fracture in February 2003. I had to have 2 screws inserted for healing purposes. I wore a hard cast for 6 weeks and a soft cast for 2 weeks. All along I have had a hard bump on the side of my foot at the point of surgery. It is now very painful (a burning radiating pain) to touch. Since my injury my ankle has always been very painful... infact it has been more painful than my foot. Though I am active, it remains stiff feeling.

Two questitons:
1. Could the pins coming out cause the pain in my foot?

2. Are there excercises I can do to increase the mobility of my ankle?

Please Advise
