Re: Sesmoid fracture

: I fractured my sesmoid (middle one) 30 years ago. In the past 5 years it has been inflamed several times. I have survided by wearing cushioned flats. What are the dangers of having this surgery?

Not being able to wear nice shoes....HaHa! No seriously...I had the surgery when I was 15..the doctors exhausted ALL other measures..i mean I had it all!!!it was bad..anyway I had the doctor for the NYC ballet operate on me..she did a wonderful job and I am fine today, excpet for a little bump of the outside of my foot (thats the scar) and a bit of sensitivity if I'm in high heels that put pressure on the big toe..but its not unbearable, if I must wear high heels one day...I'll wear flats the next. If your in severe pain and they've tried everything else..I would do it.mine was broken for 2 years..I cant imagine 30!!! Email me if you need more info!
