I am sorry you are having this problem. From your description, there might be several causes of the pain. The tendons could have developed an area of focal necrosis over time and finally gave way. There are also different types of bone cysts that can cause this type of pain. Sometimes the walss of the cyst can suffer a pathological fracture.
Be sure to bring all your films with you for second opinion. If I wasn't convinced that he problem was only tendon, I'd probably get a CT scan. That shows bone very well.
