tips of toes

The skin on the tips of my toes turn white when wet. It began when I ran in wet grass for over a year (3 times a week), and ever since then I had this problem. Since then I have not run at all or had my feet wet for prolonged periods, but the problem persists. I had my feet checked by a podiatrist for toenail fungus - the test was negative. The Dr. Suggested it was hyperhydrosis, but my feet just don't get sweaty at all! I have combed the internet, but am feeling like I may be the only one in the world with this problem! Help! I have photos if that will help.
