MRI scan

I wrote a few months ago for advice on 5th metatarsal fracture and first of all want to thank you for advising i go to see another doctor (my first didn't seem to care!). She referred me straight away to orthopaedic trauma and now i'm waiting for an MRI scan to see why it's taking so long to heal (injured early august 2003). Just wondering what they will be able to see from the scan and what they're looking for.
