i am a real athletic person; however, 3 months ago i was throwing football when i felt a sharp, crippling pain in in my heel and lower leg. i bought an ankle brace and continue to play my favorite sport, basketball, but the pain continued to get worse. two weeks after the intial incident, i stopped playing and decided it was best to rest my achilles. i can walk fine. When i raise do a calf raise...the pain will soon arrive again.
