enlarged sesmoid bone left foot due to gout

I am experiencing an enlarging of my left sesmoid bones due to gouty arthritis. About 8 months ago I went to a podiatrist and was told this diagnosis. This enlargement is causing me to walk on the lateral aspect of my left foot causing significant pain in the left ankle and laterl foot. I was told that only one of the sesmoid bones could be removed. My concern is that by removing one bone my gate and balance will be more effected. Is my concern waranted and will this procedure be beneficial. Also what is the recovery time from this type of operation.

Tuli's Double-Ribbed Pro heel cups are the most advancesd shock absorbing heel cups available today. The primary force of the heel strike is absorbed by the larger and higher waffle pattern while the lower and denser waffle pattern absorbs the high pressure and final force spike of heel strike. Perfect for sports activities.
