Re: Osgood Schlatters and orthotics

My son is 13 years old and was diagnosed with OS nearly 12 months ago. He was playing Aussie rules football and since that time has not played any sport. He has not ridden his bike or ran, has not been squating or jerking his legs, in all he has nursed the injury completely. It is severe in his right knee and to a lesser degree in his left knee. Massage aggravates it as does heat or cold. Is there some other treatment? He is a very active person who desperately wants to return to sport.
Any advice would be appreciated.
