Posterior Tibial Tendon Tear/tarsal tunnel release

I had tarsal tunnel release, fascia release & heel spur excisions on both feet over 2 yrs ago. Unfortunately,my feet felt worse, and have hurt since.
I now have a torn posterior tibial tendon that is pretty deformed. I am having surgery on June 11th to correct it.
My question is, what are the chances of the same thing happening to my other foot?
I am flat-footed,and have worn orthotics since i was 17. Before all my foot surgery, I was physically active and worked out 6 days a week at the gym. I ran everyday for about 2 1/2 miles a day.
Is there any way to prevent this tear happening in my right foot?
I have a new pair of orthotics i got last summer, and make sure that my orthotics are always comfortable.
thank you in advance

Full-length viscoelastic insoles incorporating areas of softer density in the heel and metatarsal region. Raised metatarsal pad aids in desired realignment of metatarsal heads.
