Re: pain in the big toe (great hallux)

Without seeing your toe, I can't really understand what a cast would do for this. An examination might show a possible post op problem such as an underlying bone spur, nail regrowth or even a nerve entrapment.

If you are not willing to return to the doctor who did this, see another podiatrist.
