Toe Numbeness

For some time now the three inner toes on each of my feet have been numb. I also have a numb region on the top of my right tigh which has been diagnosed as from a pinched nerve in my spine that has been agravated by being very overweight. I've just assumed that the toe numbness is from the same thing but now I am beginning to wonder if this is true. Could it be something else?
