Plantar Fasciitis

A week of moderate hiking with new boots created a situation that has given me a nasty case of plantar fasciitis in my left heel. It has been over a year now and the pain has not subsided. Cortisone, custom orthotics, stretching, ice, night splint...the whole routine. I am (was) a runner and am losing my sense of humor. I would like to opt for surgery but have read conflicting accounts of the best procedure. Full release, 3/4 release, 1/2 release?? Please help with advice. Thanks very much.
