bilateral peripheral nueropathy

in nov. 2004 i had bilateral embolisms in legs and acute renal failure. I now have nerve damage in both ankles and have to wear AFO's to walk and have severe numbness in legs,ankles,and feet.,as well as drop foot-----does anyone have a similar problem or anyone have info on best course of treatment if there is one -------thank you
