This procedure is not as commonly performed as other nail surgery procedures. But the end result should look like other nail surgeries. What your nail might look like depends how much nail the doctor needs to remove.

I will usually draw a line showing the patient how much nail will be removed. I put my finger over the area to illustrate the point. Ask your doctor to do the same or at least discuss your concerns about this.
