In a recent auto accident, I broke my left heal, cracked some of the right foot top bones (now almost no swelling and can stand on right) as well as broke/cracked several ribs and the right shoulder blade....my question: is there some type of metal strip that could strap on the uppper leg and make sort of a U under the heel so that some walking wouldn't be the impossible? I live alone in an apartment and getting from room to room has been a nightmare....just to go to the bathroom/the bed and kitchen would be such a feeling of freedom for me......my doctor has told me that I can expect 12-18 months before the heal bone heals.....which must be the longest recovery bone, is that so.....?
