Had a problem for the past 7 years, about three times a year, get a swolen big toe, could be on either foot. My Uric Acid is high, 9 mg/dL, but the symptoms do not match gout-as I can walk (limp), and the swelling is not the tight, hot, red type typically described for gout. Are there degrees of gout, and I happen to have a mild case? NSAIDs usually help, but this time, over the past two weeks, I have tried colchicine, naproxen, diclofenac and now Feldene, each with no improvement. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
