Re: Calcaneus fracture

I am a 32 year old very active male in construction.Last May I fell off an 8 foot ladder and landed directly on my left heel. I shattered my heel severely. 2 weeks later i got the surgery done and they put me in a splint. A week later i got a hard compression cast. 1 1/2 months later i got a hard boot and was prescribed therapy. My foot feels pretty good now but wont be walking for a while. Let me tell you the pain is unbearable through the whole procedure. The surgery itself only cost around $2500.00,and a few office visits. Way less than you 10000 figure. And from what I know the surgery your doc is recommending comes years down the road after they put the metal plate on your heel and ankle (which is what they did for me)and you get the fusion done after the arthritus years down the road.
If you do get the surgery on your heel do not smoke under any circumstances. The other guy that had surgery at the same time as me might lose his foot because he kept smoking and it is basically rotting.Elevation is key,I had a good recovery because of those 2 things.
Hope this helps Good Luck

Ankle braces go on fast and the athlete does the applying so there is no waiting in line to be taped. Super easy strap adjustment for a custom fit with solid ankle support.
