Support hose will help push the blood back to the heart due to compression. I admit I am not an expert in elite running physiology. I bet you could go to Runner'sworld.com and get more information there or post a question.

As far as the socks go, I have not seen them. So I can not comment specifically.
If they have some sort of elatic in int arch area, it might help, but I can't imagine much. In order to support the foot it would need to be rigid.
