I was in an auto accident on 6/12 and had a compound dislocation to the R ankle and fx metatarsals 2, 3, 4 , and 5 on the L foot. I was in 2 casts for 7 weeks. Casts were removed 7/29 and X-rays showed my right ankle healed nicely but on my left foot, metatarsal 4 isn't 100% healed and 5 is dislocated. Also, I have a small, hard mass on the bottom of my foot (near MT 2) that the doc says is a MT head and will go away in time. I started PT 4 days after the casts came off and am currently walking with an air cast on the right and a boot on the left. My concerns / questions: 1) R foot still very swollen. How long will it take for swelling to go away? Doc said there was a good amt. of soft tissue damage. 2) Doc is interested in putting a pin the the 5th MT on the L foot. Is this the right decision? 3)Will a MT head heal in time?
